Badrinath Dham

Badrinath Dham is one of the oldest Hindu places of worship. Badrinath in one of the four CHARDHAMS a devout Hindu has to visit in his lifetime to attain salvation. Badrinath is surrounded with both sides by two mountain ranges known as Nar and Naryanan, with the Neelkanth peak providing a breathtaking backdrop. For the Badrinath Temple The legends say, that Badrinath, was the home of Lord Vishnu in his incarnation as Narayan. It is known as Tapobhumi. The spot was carpeted with 'badris' or wild berries and hence was famous as 'Badri Van'. )





Kedarnath Dham

Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva the protector and the destroyer. Lord Shiva, is considered the embodiment of all passions-love, hatred, fear, death and mysticism which are expressed through his various forms.

Kedarnath range stands one of the twelve ' Jyotirlingas' of Kedar or Lord shiva. Kedarnath is one of the 4 Char Dham Hindu pilgrim centers in Uttarakhand, India.





Gangotri Dham

Located at the spot where the Ganga descended to earth, this temple was constructed in the 18 th century. Some people also believe the Pandavas also performed the Deva Yagna here to atone the deaths of all their kin who died in the Mahabharata. The temple is an imposing structure made of white granite and 20 feet high.

The physical source of the holy river is at Gaumukh, 18 kms. further uphill, along the Gangotri Glacier.





Yamunotri Dham

The main temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. The present temple was built by Maharani Guleria of Jaipur in the late nineteenth century. Once destroyed by an earthquake, it has been rebuilt. A holy dip in the nearby tank filled by hot springs and cooking rice in its water are common rituals performed by the devotees.
